  Home Decorating can be a fun and rewarding experience especially if you follow a few simple steps and do not rush it. One of the first things you need to do when home decorating is to prepare.

 Preparation for home decoration will not only save your furniture, ornaments or carpet from an annoying accident but will also make your home decorating go a lot smoother without the need to move things on the go.

As well as preparing by moving items,  when home decorating, you will also need to prepare the work surface.

If your home decorating is a simple shelf then you will need to mark where the shelf will be, make sure there are no electrical wires where you intend to drill and, finally, ensure that the shelf will be level.

If you are going to be painting for your home decorating, you will need to prepare the wall for the paint.

If your home decorating will consist of a kitchen of bathroom project then you may well need to give the wall a light sanding so that the paint can key in, or, remove existing mould of grease from the surface before commencing with your home decorating.

 Whatever your chosen home decorating project may be, preparation will be the difference between a successful and stress free job, and a home decorating nightmare.
